Although Sprint IP, Fed IP, Sprint IP using AIM, Sprint VRS, Fed VRS, and Sprint WebCaptel can be used for emergency calling, such emergency calling may not function the same as traditional 911/ E911 services. By using Sprint IP, Fed IP, Sprint IP using AIM, Sprint VRS, Fed VRS, and Sprint WebCaptel for emergency calling you agree that Sprint is not responsible for any damages resulting from errors, defects, malfunctions, interruptions or failures in accessing or attempting to access emergency services through Sprint IP, Fed IP, Sprint IP using AIM, Sprint VRS, Fed VRS, and Sprint WebCaptel whether caused by the negligence of Sprint or otherwise.

Sprint is pleased to report that we will be offering free! Personal! Local! 10-digit numbers for internet-based Relay, Instant Messaging, Video Relay Service and Federal VRS users. Personal local 10-digit numbering allows IP and VRS callers to share their local 10-digit number in order to receive calls and make 911 calls based on their geographic location. This enhancement will be available by December 31st, 2008!

Advantages of having a local personal 10-digit number
• Users can receive calls directly just by dialing a personal 10-digit number which will connect to a CA or VI without dialing the Relay provider’s toll-free number. This will allow anyone (hearing, deaf or hard of hearing) to dial a 10-digit number directly.
• Callers will no longer be required to remember an IP address or the screen name of an IP or VRS user.
• Allows users to make an emergency calls to 911, with the 10-digit number and location information automatically routed to the appropriate Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP), so that emergency personnel can be dispatched promptly.
